What I've Been Up to Lately...

Here are few books I've read in the past couple months. They were recommended to me by a friend and so I thought I'd pass on the recommendation. I've named the book and also a synopsis.

"The Time Traveler's Wife" The Time Traveler’s Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's marriage and their passionate love for each other, as the story unfolds from both points of view. Clare and Henry attempt to live normal lives, pursuing familiar goals -- steady jobs, good friends, children of their own. All of this is threatened by something they can neither prevent nor control, making their story intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

"Buyology" How much do we know about why we buy? What truly influences our decisions in today’s message-cluttered world? An eye-grabbing advertisement, a catchy slogan, an infectious jingle? Or do our buying decisions take place below the surface, so deep within our subconscious minds, we’re barely aware of them?

"Year of Wonders" In 1665, the north of England remains untouched by the plague that is ravaging London. Confronted with a scourge beyond remedy or understanding, the villagers turn in desperation to sorcery, herb lore, and murderous witch hunting--to no effect. Finally, led by a young and charismatic preacher, they elect to isolate themselves in a quarantine that may only deepen the tragedy. Told through the eyes of hard-working, inquisitive Anna Firth, who at age 18 must contend with the loss of her family and the disintegration of her community, Year of Wonders explores love and learning, fear and fanaticism, and the struggle of science and religion to interpret the world on the cusp of the modern era.

Next, I'm going to read:

The Kite Runner (I heard this one is a tear jerker)
The Red Tent
Sunshine

If you guys have any recommendations for books, please leave a post! Thanks!

Thanks for the little book report! I finished The Kite Runner a couple of months ago, and be warned, there are some parts that are really hard to read... but all in all a great book!

I love books! I will be finding the books you mentioned to read this summer! And the kite runner is pretty good but yes hard to read at times! I would recommend the Historian! Really good mystery! Kinda like Davinci Code...

Have you ever heard of "goodreads?" Basically it is a website that you can recommend/receive recommendations for books from all your friends. I have used it a little bit, but I am always thankful for the millions of books that my friends read.

And I like Angels and Demons MUCH more than The Davinci Code.

Yes I love your list of books you posted! I have been looking for some good reads. May I suggest "Water for Elephants"? I loved it.
